Well, I finally purchased a Bison Snare drum and I'm glad I did. It is hard to explain, but it just handles and feels different then any drum in my collection. The hoops are just amazing and provide great tuning capabilities, rim shots, and rim clicks. Great stick response on the entire head and surprisingly the drum is normal weight. Even though the hoops look heavy they are not. The finish is hand applied over a 10/10 ply shell (10 ply shell with 10 ply reinforcement hoops). This is one superior snare.
